What you will do

• Assess the condition of items before and during digitisation
• Set handling rules for fragile, brittle or damaged material
• Describe damage types such as foxing, worming, water staining and ink corrosion
• Review AI answers on conservation and preservation practice

What we are looking for

• Formal training or long practice in book or paper conservation
• Experience with Asian or Islamicate papers, bindings and inks
• Clear written English
• Sound judgement on when an item should not be handled

Nice to have

• Work in a museum, library or national archive conservation unit
• Knowledge of traditional repair methods and materials
