About the work
Pashto adds its own letters to the Perso-Arabic alphabet, and older prints and manuscripts vary widely in spelling.
What you will do
- Transcribe scanned Pashto pages, written in Pashto alphabet (Perso-Arabic), exactly as they appear, keeping every diacritic and punctuation mark
- Type blind from the image: no OCR, AI tools or copied text
- Flag words you cannot read instead of guessing, using our simple marking system
- Hit an agreed page count each week at a consistent quality bar
What we are looking for
- Native or near-native reading of Pashto, including older or handwritten forms
- Fast, accurate typing in Pashto script on a computer
- Patience with dense, faded or unusual layouts
- A laptop or desktop and a stable internet connection
Nice to have
- Experience with manuscripts, calligraphy or old print
- Proofreading or publishing background
