What you will do

• Transcribe Naskh manuscript pages with full vowelling where present
• Read Thuluth headings, inscriptions and decorative panels
• Distinguish scribal marks, verse markers and ornament from text
• Review other transcribers' work on the hardest pages

What we are looking for

• Trained calligrapher, or deep reading experience in Naskh and Thuluth
• Strong Arabic reading, including classical vocabulary
• Accurate typing in Arabic script with diacritics
• Patience with dense, decorated or damaged pages

Nice to have

• An ijaza or formal calligraphy training
• Knowledge of epigraphy or architectural inscriptions
