What you will do

• Draw regions around text blocks, margins, headers, footnotes and images
• Set the correct reading order, including right-to-left and marginal text
• Label seals, stamps, catchwords and page numbers
• Follow a written layout guide and raise cases it does not cover

What we are looking for

• Reading knowledge of at least one Arabic-script language
• Good spatial judgement and patience with complex pages
• Comfort learning a new annotation tool
• A laptop or desktop with a reasonably large screen

Nice to have

• Experience with layout tools such as Transkribus, eScriptorium or CVAT
• Familiarity with manuscript page conventions such as tilted marginal notes
