About the work
Craft knowledge is passed hand to hand and rarely written down, so AI models know very little about it. Makers are the only reliable source.
What you will do
- Check model answers on techniques, materials and regional styles
- Identify crafts and origins from photographs
- Build glossaries of craft terms in local languages
- Write detailed descriptions of how objects are made
What we are looking for
- Practising craftsperson, or long experience in the craft trade
- Knowledge of regional styles in South Asia, Central Asia or the Middle East
- Able to explain your craft clearly in English or Urdu
- Good eye for detail in photographs
Nice to have
- Museum, export or design house experience
- Knowledge of natural dyes and traditional materials
