About the work
Speech models trained on formal Urdu struggle with how people actually talk in Punjab and southern Pakistan. Dialect transcripts close that gap.
What you will do
- Transcribe recorded conversations and interviews verbatim
- Mark speakers, overlaps, pauses and non-speech sounds
- Handle mixed Urdu, English and regional vocabulary
- Follow spelling conventions for dialect words
What we are looking for
- Native speaker of Punjabi or Saraiki, with fluent Urdu
- Fast, accurate typing in Urdu script
- Good ear for regional accents
- Good headphones and a quiet place to work
Nice to have
- Experience in radio, journalism or field research
- Knowledge of Shahmukhi spelling
